“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of
drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

A friend and wonderful mentor, Florence, who is now in heaven, once told me
" to be like a tree... to grow slowly, strongly, with deep roots in the Lord;
Learn to move with the wind, bending and unbreakable".
That advice, has been PRICELESS in my life! Each time a challenge has risen I think of the words she told me and Jeremiah 17:7-8. It helps me to remember, strong winds of turbulence will blow through our life, just storms will blow through the tress. We have a choice to make; to be rigid and breakable or bendable and unbreakable.
When the turbulence of life hits, be like the tree! Plant yourself (roots) by the stream (Jesus), trust in Him, have confidence in Him. Jesus can do so much more than we could ever do or imagine!
When we give our fear and worries to Him, and trust in Him, he can continue to work in and through us. Allowing us to continue to bloom and bear fruit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) in any circumstance.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your words of wisdom. Help me to remember when the turbulence of life hits me, to act like a tree; strong but bendable and unbreakable.
Remind me to spend time in your word daily; so I may gain the strength, to continue to bloom and bear fruit. Help me to be a light (show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control) to others around
me who may be going through a hard time.
